This new gallery builds upon our earlier work in the Water Illusions: Abstracts series.

One of the delights of the reflected image in water is not just the abstract view that is revealed, but the fact that the image, itself, has a life of its own. With the movement of the water, the image becomes fluid and ever-changing, alive. Thus reflected, a rigid structure is given (safely) movement and flow, and dances in our view.

We wanted to capture this dance more clearly, and our lovely Venice obliged. Instead of concentrating on single images, the images in this gallery (with one exception) are organized in sequences of two or three. We hope that when viewed in sequence, more of the sense of movement, change and new life inherent in the reflected image is revealed.

La Serenissima's canals pay homage to Dali in the artistic distortions that they paint. Perhaps he would approve.
